COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Our client has a well-established brand and position in the Commercial Audio/Visual market and holds a significant market share for wireless hearing assistance, tour guide, and simultaneous interpretation systems.  The company business focus is on providing group listening solutions to a variety of business and institutional customers, including churches, schools, cinemas, courtrooms, government, and conference facilities. They partner with a network of 17 professional Manufacturer's Representatives to service over 1000 AV integrators throughout the US.

The PRODUCTION MANAGER will supervise and manage the employees that build the products, ensuring that quality and profitability targets are met. The emphasis of daily activities is on effective leadership of the production group, assembly and testing of the products, and customer order fulfillment. The Production Manager will ensure the Production Department is working in concert with other Departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Duties and Responsibilities 

The Production Manager position will be primarily charged with driving each of the following areas of responsibility:

  • Report to the Vice President of Manufacturing to ensure products are built per design specifications and quality standards
  • Provide effective leadership, coaching, training and development of direct reports, creating a positive, results-oriented atmosphere
  • Monitor and implement quality control standards
  • Controlling costs throughout the production stages 
  • Monitor every stage of production, including working with the production team to analyze current methods and develop new ways to save steps, time and materials in order to reduce costs
  • Involvement in the pre-production (planning/design for manufacturability) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage
  • Initiate and implement programs to improve efficiency and increase production
  • Work jointly and effectively with the MFG Control Manager to generate work orders necessary to fulfill production schedules and build appropriate levels of finished goods inventory
  • Work collaboratively with the MFG Control Manager to assist with writing Processes as well as Bills of Material
  • Work jointly and effectively with the Warehouse Manager to ensure the raw materials and inventory requirements are readily available to produce products for customer order fulfillment
  • Work jointly and effectively with the Purchasing Buyers to ensure the production employees have the necessary tools, supplies and test equipment to build and test the products
  • Work jointly and effectively with the product development team, including the engineer department, to establish and implement product development and production release plans
  • Establish and monitor the scheduling of the production of products with the assembly team
  • Demonstrate a coaching style of leadership and continuous learning.  Communicate all employee feedback and coaching interactions with the Vice President of Manufacturing
  • Other responsibilities as required by the Vice President of Manufacturing

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory management
  • Minimum of 5 years previous electronics experience
  • Hands on experience with soldering Printed Circuit Assemblies (SMT/Thru-hole)
  • Understanding of technical drawings
  • Ability to identify electronic components
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Excellent communications skills, written and spoken

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-years Electronics Degree
  • Post High School Education
